Banstead Cricket Club

VICE PRESIDENT’S CHARTER

The Banstead Vice President’s (VPs) Club is an informal network of supporters of Banstead Cricket Club. The VPs agree always to act in the best interests of the Club and are committed to supporting its future development by facilitating enhancements to the club’s cricket facilities and amenities.

Benefits

Members of the VPs Club receive the following benefits:-

• A complementary annual lunch during a major league fixture
• Club blazer and tie at cost
• Name listed on the clubhouse VP’s board.
• Priority access to tickets for Surrey County Cricket, International matches at the Oval and the Surrey League Annual Awards Dinner - at the discretion of the Banstead Cricket Committee.
• Attendance at a variety of VP Club social events – such as pub evenings, sporting dinners, race nights, golf days. Attendance is voluntary and at the member’s own expense. Partners may also attend certain of these events based on a consensus from the VPs.

Entry and Donation.

Membership of the VPs Club is open to supporters of Banstead Cricket Club, upon payment of an annual donation of at least £250.00 inclusive of any other payments due to the Club, such as Social and Playing Member Fees, in accordance with the membership rules. However any VP who is not already a Social Member will have to apply in the normal way for social membership prior to becoming a VP. Subscriptions fall due on May 1st of each year.

Use of Donations.

VPs donations are utilised to fund enhancements to the Club’s facilities. The VPs are able to select items they wish to fund by a consensus of VPs from a short list of items prepared by the Committee, consistent with the strategic plan for the Cricket Club.

Contributions to date:-

• In 2009 donations from the VPs contributed to investment in the new electronic scoreboard to replace the dilapidated wooden scorers box
• Contributions collected in 2010 have been held over and with donations collected in 2011 will be used to purchase wheeled covers and/or new sightscreens.
